Philosophy

My priority in treatment is to provide a safe, relaxing, non-threatening atmosphere, where individuals will feel "listened to/really understood", in examining whatever issues or concerns might be preventing them from experiencing happy, peaceful, and fulfilling lives.

 

My treatment approaches include a wide variety of strategies and treatment modalities which are tailored to the specific needs, preferences, and readiness level of the client. Together, we negotiate an agreed-upon treatment plan for which the client feels supported and empowered to take active ownership in exploring emotions, feelings, alternatives, consequences, and action.

 

My background and training experience is centered in "holistic health counseling" - that is, tending to the whole person - emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually, and socially. Thus, each client is gently encouraged to make healthy/balanced choices, to take realistic action steps, at a pace which yields the desired change/healing.
